Last night I wandered over by the east river cause it was nice out and the bridges and water look cool, a few fishermen are out, its peaceful... despite the noise from the trains and Hwy above. So I'm on a bench in deep thought (deep thought: mmmm, mexican food. I should open a mexican restaurant, yeah that's the ticket, it'll be great). Meanwhile, two undercover cops post up against the railing looking towards the Brooklyn Bridge. I don't think anything of it and continue to zone out. A group of kids walk past and are like "YO! what's the deal? What's going on?", and the cops say "some guy's claiming he's gonna jump... he's not gonna do it, the jerk woulda done it by now." Now I notice that there's all these emergency vehicles on the bridge and yeah that helicopter has been flying around for a while now. About 30 minutes later I see the dude jump! Watched his suicide attempt, saw a huge splash and everything! I jumped up off the bench in disbelief, you just don't expect it to really happen, let alone what its gonna look like... or if it happens, are you going to be able to see it? One of the cops had also caught it, the other missed it but got on his walkie talkie and received confirmation. Found this NY POST ARTICLE, doesn't say much. I was hoping to get more details. The pics are from my iPhone, hard to see all the commotion on the bridge, but its there.

View of the Manhattan Bridge from the bench I was on, looked like a full moon... just checked and it won't be full until tomorrow. But I was convinced at the time it was full and had to do with the man's choice to jump that night.
