So I'm cold (no heat in apt) and would really like to go somewhere warm. I also wish I was taking more photos. Above are a couple shots from a very hot 'n humid Guatemala where I bummed around with friends Mike and Jorge in 2007. Mike and I being gringos, Jorge was pretty much our travel guide. He took us all over and seemed to have family in every little city. Everyone we met treated us like we belonged, and took extreme pride in sharing their way of life with us. I was thoroughly impressed by the routines and work ethic on Jorge's sugar cane ranch. Check this FLICKR SET for more of these shots. Oh man, and the food... farm fresh food every single day, along with homemade tortillas each meal. We even rode in the back of a pick-up with our dinner one day, a live sheep/goat. He was pissed at us, kept tryin' to head butt me!?
